Credit unions don’t need to reinvent their mission.

It works through three stages:

This requires looking beyond traditional metrics and identifying indicators of financial well-being.
2. Demonstrate
Next comes evidence.
Credit unions must be able to show:
how many members moved from vulnerable to coping
how many households stabilized their finances
how credit union programs improved financial resilience
Metrics tell a story.
But evidence builds credibility.
3. Accelerate
Once impact is visible, the final step is scale.
Credit unions can expand:
micro-lending programs
financial coaching
community partnerships
targeted interventions
Instead of isolated success stories, they create repeatable impact.
This is where the real transformation happens.
Because once credit unions can prove their impact, they can expand it.
